Easy to install
Fiat 500 key covers are an easy way to refresh your car keys. You can choose from a wide range of colors and styles to choose the one that best fits your personal style. Installing them yourself is in ten minutes. You'll need an electric screwdriver and a bit of patience. The first step is taking off the cover that was originally installed. This needs to be removed before the new cover is installed.
Once you have removed the old cover Use an flat-head screwdriver to take out the four major attachment clips located on the side that is on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked with red on the image below. Note the yellow locating tabs, which must be disengaged.
After removing the battery replace it with a new # CR2032 3 Volt coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery is aligned to the opening in the fob, and that the"-" negative side is facing toward the rubber buttons.
Replace the cover of the passenger's side mirror by aligning locating tabs. Once you've completed this, insert the fob that is on the driver's side back in your car and test it by pressing the button on the front of the car key. If everything is functioning properly, your car should activate the parking lights, and the doors will lock automatically.

It is easy to do this by pressing the "Fiat" red button on the front of your key fob. By pressing the button, you will release an lever that permits you to slide out the key ignition switch made of metal (1). When you remove the metal key, you will be able to see a small round silver metal switch with images of a locked and unlocked padlock on top of it. This is the key fob battery switch. The battery is simple to replace by turning the switch a quarter turn with a screwdriver that has a flathead.
The key fob contains a microchip in it that is used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert your Fiat key, it presses a button inside the ignition switch that is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will detect the transponder in the key fob in order to confirm that it's valid.
